London Drainage

Following the 2025 detention pond opening, Brent is providing almost $8 million in additional drainage projects in the London area for 2026.

Packery Channel

Expanding the nature park boardwalk by 3,500 feet and adding birding habitat via a $3.4 million grant.

Fiscal Results

Brent has successfully reduced the property tax rate from approximately 33 cents to 28 cents during his tenure.

Student Physicals

Provided 4,358 free physicals in the last 3 years to students at Seashore School, King High School, Veterans Memorial, London High School, Flour Bluff High School, and Port Aransas High School.

Chesney Votes Against New Property Taxes Again

Brent Chesney voted against an increase in taxes when the new budget was passed. He has promised to once again vote against new taxes for the 2026/2027 budget coming up in mid-2026.

Island Skatepark

Brent Chesney led the efforts at the Island TIRZ board to secure the funding for the Island Skatepark.

Packery Channel Nature Park

Boardwalk expansion of 3,500 feet and birding habitat enhancements via a $3.4 million Texas GLO grant. Project currently out for bids.

Living Shoreline & Pier

$3.6 million grant for a living shoreline along Packery Channel to mitigate erosion and include a new public fishing pier.

Nueces County Coastal Parks Expansion

$7.5 million Restore Act grant adding RV and tent sites with restrooms, laundry, and walking trails at Padre Balli and IB Magee.

Parker Pool in Flour Bluff

Brent Chesney stepped up and saved Parker Pool when the City of Corpus Christi was going to close it. Nueces County took it over and Brent Chesney upgraded the pool with a million dollars to maintain and provide an important community asset. There are additional upgrades starting in 2026.

London Area County Roads

Brent Chesney has secured millions of dollars for county road improvements in the London area.

London Drainage

Following the 2025 detention pond opening, providing almost $8 million in additional drainage projects in the London area for 2026.

IB Magee Boardwalk in Port Aransas

$1.4 million allocated for 2,555 linear feet of elevated boardwalk and habitat enhancements. Retention pond construction is complete.

Briscoe King Pavilion

Refurbishing the pavilion and adding a 300-person building. Funded via Island TIRZ to keep tax dollars local.

School Safety Grants

Over $250,000 provided for school safety grants throughout Precinct 4.

Student Physicals

Provided 4,358 free physicals in the last 3 years to students at Seashore School, King High School, Veterans Memorial, London High School, Flour Bluff High School, and Port Aransas High School. Thousands more were completed in earlier terms.

Honorary Veterans Band Member

Local Veteran and long time leader of the Veterans Band, Ram Chavez, along with band members bestowed this honor on Commissioner Chesney.

Sandcastle Run

Raised approximately $350,000 over 9 years for children with diabetes, sending local kids to summer camp.

Veterans Memorial

$200,000 in Precinct 4 funds committed to the Port Aransas Veterans Memorial. Groundbreaking coming soon.

Bringing Government to the People

Commissioner Chesney operates satellite offices in Port A, North Padre Island, and Flour Bluff at no additional cost to taxpayers to be regularly accessible to constituents.

Brent Chesney is a native son of Corpus Christi, a business owner, and a proven family man who puts Nueces County first.

As the CEO of First Title Company and a practicing attorney, Brent brings decades of private-sector accountability to the court. Brent and his family are deeply rooted in the Coastal Bend. His son Joshua graduated from London High School, and Gabriel is a senior at Flour Bluff.
